WorldTel has signed up a Memorandum of Understanding titled "The Development of Information Access in Less Developed Countries of Asia". This agreement provides cooperation between WorldTel and IDRC in developing information access, commercialization of country databases and internet applications for targeted countries which include VietNam, Cambodia, India, Laos, China, Pakistan, Burma, and others. IDRC was represented in Kuala Lumpur by its Regional Director, Dr. R. Spence and Mr. Barclay Hambrook signed on behalf of WorldTel. IDRC is an official agency of the Canadian government and has its regional offices for Asia in Singapore.
